Researchers writing in npj Digital Medicine tested DADD, a digital-twin model that turns routine EEG into neurodegeneration biomarkers for subjective cognitive decline or mild cognitive impairment. In 459 participants followed for up to 10 years, the digital markers predicted who converted and when, beating standard EEG metrics and matching APOE, MRI, and CSF markers overall, while doing better in the SCD group. Combining digital and established biomarkers further lifted accuracy. The pitch is scalable risk stratification without lumbar punctures or imaging for every patient. Caveat: this remains a research cohort evaluation, not a cleared clinical product, and EEG quality can blunt real-world performance.
