Solinas raises $5.5M to put AI robots under India's water pipes

Chennai robotics firm Solinas Integrity, incubated at IIT Madras, raised $5.5 million (about Rs 48 crore) in a Series A1 led by Hero Enterprise Partner Ventures and Mela Ventures, with the Luthra Group and follow-ons from SBI Ventures, Rainmatter, and 8X Ventures. Founders Divanshu Kumar and Moinak Banerjee build robots and AI that inspect, clean, and digitize underground water networks across more than 35 cities in 15 Indian states, plus Middle East sites. Pune legal-tech startup NYAI raised $1.5 million in seed funding from Indian family offices and strategic angels to expand a corpus of Indian statutes, rules, and judgments and grow its compliance platform. ET Entrepreneur reports the stack plugs into an enterprise's existing large language models so sensitive matter never leaves the customer's infrastructure. Co-founder Chinmay Bhosale argues Western legal AI is optimized for counsel cost, while Indian teams need owned workflows shaped to layered local practice. Fresh capital will also support deployments at enterprises, listed companies, and law firms. The round is early-stage, so corpus coverage and production reliability still rest mainly on company claims.
Pinegap, an AI equity-research platform with U.S. clients and Indian founders, raised $8 million in a Series A led by Stellaris Venture Partners, with Inventus, Silicon Valley Quad, and DeVC joining. The Economic Times reports the capital will fund go-to-market, engineering, and an in-house bench of former equity analysts. Rather than a chatbot, Pinegap builds custom agents that draft earnings previews, primers, and thesis trackers and push them on a schedule or market trigger. It says more than 1,000 agents already run across over 100 institutional clients, producing upwards of 50,000 reports a month. Adoption figures are company-reported, so research quality still needs independent checks.
Databricks raised $5 billion at a $190 billion valuation after investors pushed far more capital into the AI data platform than the roughly $1 billion it first sought. Coatue led with Blackstone, MGX, T. Rowe Price accounts, and new backer Sixth Street Growth. CEO Ali Ghodsi told TechCrunch the firm is at a $7 billion annualized revenue run rate, growing about 80 percent and cash-flow positive, with Lakebase past $100 million run rate. Proceeds will fund Lakebase, Genie, and Unity AI Gateway. A July close near $188 billion already existed, so the new headline mainly marks demand and a higher tag.
Bengaluru medtech firm Ayati Devices raised Rs 15 crore in a pre-Series A led by Inflexor Ventures, its first institutional round, to expand manufacturing, overseas sales, and AI-enabled diagnostics for diabetic foot and peripheral vascular disease. Founded by Nishant Kathpal and incubated at IIT Bombay's SINE, Ayati sells portable tools such as Vibrasense, Vasosense, and Angiocam so clinics can screen before ulcers and amputations. The company says more than 10,000 devices are deployed across 30-plus countries and cites CDSCO, FDA, and CE clearances. AI is framed as clinician decision support, not replacement. Commercial outcome claims still rest largely on company-reported adoption figures.
