A multicenter npj Digital Medicine study introduces CE Reporter, which converts full-length capsule endoscopy videos into evidence-backed diagnostic reports. Trained on MICS-CE with 1,002 video-report pairs and 109 million frames, it beat multimodal baselines on report quality and small-intestine lesion F1 (0.79 versus 0.58), outscored resident clinicians on correctness metrics, and cut reporting time by 91.9 percent while keeping keyframe evidence. Authors span Hong Kong and mainland China hospitals. Caveat: results are research-stage across selected centers and devices; prospective deployment still needs governance and broader real-world trials.
