San Francisco startup Sapiom closed a $35 million Series A led by Dragonfly, taking total funding to $50 million after an Accel-led seed. Its router sits between agents and models, picking a cheaper capable option and enforcing a budget at the moment of action. The company says it has handled more than 270 million transactions and cut one customer's Anthropic bill from about $1.2 million a month to roughly $100,000. Anthropic remains an investor alongside Accel, Menlo and others. Caveat: model routing is crowded, and cloud vendors already bundle similar controls.
